Municipal Administration Department, Tamil Nadu has sanctioned funds worth Rs 881.8 million for implementation of the Tadepalligudem UGD Project under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
The work is likely to begin soon.
The project was originally launched in 2009 at an estimated cost of Rs 615 million.
Work up to about Rs 285 million worth of construction and household connections was completed. However, progress on the project came to a standstill, and the partially completed works were left abandoned. Work on the STP was also started on nearly 3.98 acres at Yanadula Colony near Kadakatla at a cost of Rs 321.4 million, but that too was abandoned.
