The project involves rejuvenation of Pandarachira canal to address the issue of waterlogging in West Kochi, Kerala. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1 billion, and it is being funded by the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA). Under the scope of the project, a wastewater treatment plant will be developed, bridges and culverts will be renovated, and a permanent system will be established to maintain an unobstructed flow of water. Additionally, the work will also involve sustainable desilting, pollution control measures and construction of new canal walls. Phase I of the project will cover a 2.3 km stretch of the canal.
