Thakur Constructions and D Kumar and Company have submitted bids for development of 24×7 Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Hailakandi and Karimganj in Assam under State Owned Priority Development (SOPD-G) programme. Bids for the same were invited by the Public Health Engineering Department, Assam in October 2024.
Hailakandi: The scope of work includes construction of raw water intake system, river bank protection at intake point, supply, delivery, erection at site with necessary packing, receiving, unloading, shifting, storing, installation, testing and commissioning of centrifugal pumps, raw water pumping main from barge (intake station) to the water treatment plant site (Inlet of Aerator) including suction and delivery piping, 12.66 million litres per day (mld) water treatment plant (WTP), reinforced cement concrete (RCC) elevated service reservoir (ESR), distribution network, providing 7952 nos. functional house service connection inclusive of 7652 domestic and 300 commercial connections and other related works including three months trial run and seven years Operation and Maintenance (O&M) at an estimated cost of Rs 703.15 million.
Karimganj: The scope of work includes construction of raw water intake system, river bank protection at intake point, Supply, delivery, erection at site with necessary packing, receiving, unloading, shifting, storing, installation, testing and commissioning of centrifugal pumps, raw water pumping main from barge (intake station) to the water treatment plant site (Inlet of Aerator) including suction and delivery piping, 16 million litres per day (mld) water treatment plant (WTP), reinforced cement concrete (RCC) elevated service reservoir (ESR), distribution network, providing 14715 nos. functional house service connection and other related works including three months trial run and seven years Operation and Maintenance (O&M) at an estimated cost of Rs 784.53 million.
The work is likely to be completed in 24 months.
