The Government of Telangana has allotted funds worth Rs 7,250 million for the construction of intake well and pumping station being built in Sunkishala, Telangana under Budget 2023-24.
The project, being implemented by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), involves construction of an intake well and PS including electro-mechanical equipment, sub-station, instrumentation works and transmission mains from Sunkishala to Kodandapur water treatment plants (WTPs) under the Krishna Water Supply Scheme (WSS) in the state of Telangana at an estimated cost of Rs 14.5 billion.
Besides this, out of the funds allocated to HMWSSB Rs 3000 million has been earmarked for the 20 kilolitre (KL) per month free water scheme.
