DRN Infrastructure Private Limited has won a contract worth Rs 10.36 billion for construction of the Versova Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF) on design, build and operate (DBO) basis under the Mumbai Sewage Disposal Stage II Project. Bids for the same were invited by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in February 2022.
The scope of work involves design and construction of 180 mld WWTF including 90 mld tertiary treatment facility with O&M for a period of 15 years and space reservation for 60 mld, total comprises of 240 mld on lump sum basis. The contract period is 48 months.
Mumbai Sewerage Disposal Project Stage II (MSDP Stage II) is an extension of MSDP Stage I which included works such as laying of new sewer lines, new pumping stations, treatment plants and three marine outfalls. The works of MSDP Stage II are divided into five phases (each phase spanning over five years) and those in the first two phases are called priority works, amounting to Rs 140 billion.
